Graduate Trainee Chartered Accountant

Muras Baker Jones Limited is an independent firm of Chartered Accountants providing a full range of accountancy, audit, tax and financial management services to its clients.

Based in Wolverhampton we have clients in most business sectors and ranging in size from small sole-traders to large groups of companies. We generally recruit one or two graduates each year.

This summer, 2022, we are looking to recruit one graduate as a trainee Chartered Accountant.

Training to be a Chartered Accountant is hard work as it requires studying for challenging exams at the same time as working in a professional capacity. The successful applicant will work, with full supervision and support, primarily in our corporate services department on audit, accountancy and tax assignments. The work, which will be both in our offices and at clients’ premises, will meet the Practical Work Experience requirements for eventual application for membership of the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). Over a 3 year period we give paid study leave to attend a private specialist accountancy school for tuition prior to the ICAEW exams.

The competitive starting salary will be discussed with any applicants chosen for interview.

Applicants will need to have a history of good academic results and be looking to achieve at least a 2.1 degree. At interview they will need to demonstrate that they understand the commitment needed to train and study for this demanding professional qualification. Background information can be obtained from the website of the ICAEW. A driving licence and use of a car are desirable though not absolutely essential.
